An opening prayer
Heavenly Father, you call us to worship you in spirit and in truth, in unity and in joy. Help us to glorify you in all that we say and do, that we may serve you faithfully and willingly every day of our lives. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
We pray for unity within the Church.
Heavenly Father, you have called us together in the Body of your Son Jesus Christ to continue the work of reconciliation and to reveal your love to humanity. Forgive the sins which divide us from one another, and give us the courage to overcome our fears as we seek that unity which is your gift and your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
A prayer for peace in our world
O God, lead us from death to life, from falsehood to truth. Lead us from despair to hope, from fear to trust. Lead us from hate to love, from war to peace. Let peace fill our hearts, our world, our universe. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
A prayer for those whom we know in need;
Our Father, we are mindful as we come to you this evening hour not only of our own needs, but also the needs of others. Relieve and heal the sick, console the sorrowing and the lonely; guide the anxious and perplexed, have in your safe keeping those who face danger this night; and be near to all whom we love; for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
In the silence we pray for ourselves and our own needs;
Lord God, the well spring of life, pour into our hearts the living water of your grace; increase our faith, and grant that we may serve you in your life giving strength; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
